SMALL BATCH SCOTLAND
In the creation of this Small Batch design our mission was to pay a proper tribute to the most iconic city in golf and launch during the Women’s Open Championship at St. Andrews.
This most significant place in our game inspired us to explore the charming surroundings of the Old Course, and the many small shops that populate the streets nearby. Many of these shops date back hundreds of years and were home to some of the very first golf club makers in the world. Old Tom Morris and the Auchterlonies honed their legendary skills here.
That inspiration led us to the creation of Small Batch Scotland and the thoughts of Toulon having a family business there years ago. Toulon and Sons felt like the appropriate name for our theoretical shop.
We set out to create this concept of a store front sign that would quietly
identify the activity that would take place inside, and just as many of the businesses that line the neighborhood streets of St. Andrews were family
owned and operated, so are we. Inside the shops, most had family
members tending to the businesses and many had a family dog. These dogs of St. Andrews have the distinct pleasure of enjoying the Old Course every Sunday, when the course closes down and becomes one of the largest dog parks in the world.
